Welcome to BosINT, an open-source intelligence (OSINT) platform designed to empower researchers, analysts, investigative journalists, and hobbyists who wish to gather publicly accessible information ethically and responsibly. BosINT is built on the principle of supporting and enhancing the OSINT community by facilitating streamlined, user-friendly approaches to lawful open-source data gathering. 

At its core, BosINT seeks to foster a culture of continuous learning, respect, and collaboration, encouraging users to innovate while maintaining a shared commitment to responsible behavior.

The primary scope of BosINT revolves around compiling, analyzing, and presenting open-source information derived from publicly available data. By integrating cutting-edge OSINT methodologies with an intuitive user interface, we aim to enable more insightful, faster, and more comprehensive research outcomes. However, our platform and associated services rest upon a fundamental trust: users must adhere to legal standards, ethical guidelines, and the broader spirit of collaboration that OSINT represents.

When you choose to engage with BosINT, whether through Discord slash commands or direct interactions with our services, you become part of a community that values knowledge sharing, transparency, and legal compliance. We require that all members of this community abide by the following policies and code of conduct to maintain a fair, respectful, and secure environment. By doing so, you help sustain the integrity of our platform and the broader OSINT community.

BosINT was conceptualized to address a growing need within the OSINT community for a tool that can operate within Discord without intruding on users’ privacy or collecting unwarranted information. Recognizing that many OSINT activities take place in collaborative, discussion-oriented environments, we have designed BosINT to:

1. Provide streamlined OSINT capabilities
   BosINT’s commands and features allow for quick lookups, targeted queries, and relevant search functions that cater to those performing investigations, verifications, or research within open-source data.
    
2. Encourage ethical and compliant usage
   The tool’s structure is intentionally built to mitigate misuse by limiting its functionality to recognized best practices in the OSINT domain. BosINT inherently aligns with the broader community standards that discourage malicious or invasive data gathering tactics.
    
3. Offer a user-centric, privacy-conscious approach
   Unlike many Discord bots that integrate with extensive APIs and permissions, BosINT operates on a minimalist philosophy. Our approach is to only require and retain data essential to functionality. We aim to protect users from unnecessary data exposure, offering peace of mind to those who rely on the platform.
    
4. Promote community collaboration
   We believe that OSINT thrives when researchers share insights, collaborate on emerging trends, and collectively refine research techniques. BosINT is built on these foundations, fostering an environment where OSINT enthusiasts can learn from one another and scale their knowledge responsibly.

   We encourage our users to submit feedback, report issues, and suggest feature enhancements. Such input allows us to improve BosINT incrementally while respecting privacy, ensuring that the platform meets the evolving demands of OSINT practitioners around the world.
    

Through these purposes, BosINT ultimately aspires to unify the OSINT community within a secure, ethically grounded, and collaborative digital environment.

By engaging with BosINT, you implicitly agree to uphold the principles of respectful and ethical use. This commitment extends to all interactions within our community, including but not limited to public Discord channels, private or internal team environments, and any collaborative spaces where BosINT might be employed. Specifically, we emphasize that users must:

• Treat fellow researchers, moderators, and community members with dignity and respect, free from harassment or disparaging remarks.
• Comply with local and international laws, ensuring that each search or data query aligns with legally permissible activities.
• Always consider potential implications of the data gathered, avoiding actions that could lead to harm, compromise individual privacy, or infringe upon rights and freedoms.

To protect the integrity of our platform and maintain a positive environment, BosINT expressly prohibits the following types of activities. Violating any one of these prohibitions may result in immediate termination of access, at the sole discretion of the BosINT team:

1. Violating Discord’s Terms of Service
   Discord hosts BosINT, and therefore, all terms and conditions laid out by the Discord platform must be respected. Any behavior that violates Discord’s standards similarly violates BosINT’s expectations.
    
2. Disclosing private or sensitive information (“doxxing”)
   BosINT is designed for open-source intelligence gathering. Using BosINT (or any derivative data gleaned from it) to reveal personal, non-public, or sensitive information about individuals without their consent is strictly forbidden.
    
3. Harassment, stalking, or intimidation
   BosINT must not be used to surveil or harass others. This includes repeated, unwanted attempts at contact, collecting information purely for intimidation, or organizing “hate campaigns” against individuals or groups.
    
4. Unauthorized distribution or use of copyrighted materials
   Where information is not public domain or licensed for free use, you must respect the rights of the original content creators. BosINT’s functionalities do not override copyright laws; therefore, redistributing or scraping copyrighted material without permission is not permissible.
    
5. Violations of intellectual property rights
   Beyond copyright, intellectual property (IP) refers to patents, trademarks, trade secrets, and more. Any search or exploitation of BosINT’s services that infringes upon IP rights is disallowed.
    
6. Engaging in, facilitating, or promoting illegal activities
   BosINT’s features must not be employed for illicit endeavors, such as hacking, identity theft, fraud, or any activity contravening local or international law.
    
7. Malicious behaviors, including security exploits
   Users are expressly barred from attempting to compromise BosINT’s security, interfering with its normal operations, or exploiting known or unknown vulnerabilities.
    
8. Abusing or overwhelming our tools in unintended ways
   While research and testing are acceptable, repeatedly sending automated queries or overloading BosINT with excessive demands, leading to service disruption, is prohibited.
    
9. Hate speech, discriminatory behavior, or inciting violence
   BosINT stands against all forms of hatred, whether based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic. We will not tolerate content that promotes division, harm, or violence against any protected group.
    

These prohibitions are non-exhaustive. BosINT retains broad discretion to restrict or terminate user access for any behavior we determine to be misconduct, harmful, or otherwise incompatible with the ethical standards we have established.

If BosINT finds evidence or otherwise determines—at our sole discretion—that you have violated any provision of our code of conduct, policies, or spirit of OSINT usage, we reserve the right to take corrective measures. Such actions may include:

• Immediate revocation of access
  We may deactivate or suspend your ability to use BosINT without prior warning if you are found to be in breach.
• Removal from our community

                   We may remove or ban you from our community servers, including our official Discord server.

We do not take these measures lightly. Our first priority is to maintain a safe, lawful, and positive environment that benefits the entire OSINT community. We appreciate that the vast majority of users share this commitment and never engage in activities that compromise our collective integrity.

BosINT adheres to a strict data policy designed to protect user privacy and maintain transparency about how data is collected, stored, and utilized. Unlike many Discord bots that have broad permissions across channels and logs, BosINT limits its interaction with Discord’s environment to the minimum functionality required. We recognize the need for a robust OSINT tool that does not compromise user trust.

BosINT functions primarily through Discord slash commands, limiting its scope of data acquisition. This design choice ensures that BosINT:

• Does not read or store the contents of your Discord channels or private messages.
• Does not have the ability to listen to or record voice channels.
• Does not collect extraneous metadata about server participants, beyond what is minimally needed to process the slash command.

This approach underscores our philosophy of collecting the bare minimum data to perform functionalities you explicitly request. Our command interface is purpose-built to give researchers direct control over queries, helping prevent accidental or unauthorized data harvesting.

While BosINT aims to minimize data gathering, certain operational and security considerations necessitate the retention of limited records. Specifically:

• Command Execution Records
  For operational reliability (i.e., troubleshooting, workload management, analytics for feature improvements), we maintain logs of user-initiated commands. These records typically include:
  • Timestamp of command execution
  • Type of command used
  • User or server identifier (when necessary for debugging or usage analysis)

•  Error Diagnostics, Development, and Improvement
  In cases where a command malfunctions or the service experiences downtime, error logs may capture relevant details such as the command input, system state, and partial user identifiers. Additionally, we may use certain anonymized or limited user data to improve commands, enhance the platform’s features, and train our underlying systems or algorithms. Rest assured, any data leveraged for these purposes is subject to strict privacy safeguards and is retained only for as long as necessary to address technical issues and refine BosINT’s functionality.
   
• Moderation and Security Logs
  In instances of suspected misconduct or malicious usage, we may retain additional contextual data necessary for an investigation. Such information helps us identify, respond to, and prevent future misuse, while maintaining an auditable record in compliance with potential legal obligations.
   
• Data Retention Period
  BosINT does not keep user or server logs beyond essential command execution records for longer than one year, unless a specific reason (legal requirement, active investigation, or user’s direct involvement) mandates an extended retention period. After the retention period lapses, logs are securely purged in accordance with data protection best practices.
   

BosINT’s development team employs industry-standard practices and advanced security measures to ensure that any data retained is stored in a secure, access-controlled environment. Access to logs and diagnostic data is strictly limited to authorized personnel within the BosINT development team. This helps protect users from external threats and internal misuse, reinforcing our commitment to safeguarding user information.

1. Encryption of Sensitive Data
   Where feasible and necessary, logs or identifiers are encrypted at rest or in transit to prevent unauthorized access.
    
2. Strict Internal Protocols
   Only a handful of BosINT developers, who have undergone thorough vetting, possess the credentials needed to access data repositories.
    
3. Ongoing Security Audits
   We periodically review, test, and update our security protocols to remain aligned with best practices, adapting to new threats or vulnerabilities.
    

We acknowledge that users may wish to opt out or request removal of any retained data. While BosINT’s minimal data retention significantly reduces the volume of personal information on file, we provide a clear process for those seeking to remove data associated with their usage:

1. Contact Us
   Send an email to dev@bosint.gg with specific details about the data you believe may be stored, along with the reasoning for your request.
2. Verification
   To prevent unauthorized actions, we will verify your identity or association with the relevant user account.
3. Review and Action
   If the request falls within our retention policies and aligns with applicable legal frameworks, we will take steps to remove or anonymize the relevant data. We will also confirm completion of the request.

In certain cases, if the data pertains to a legal or security investigation, we may be obligated to retain it for a longer period. However, once the mandatory retention period expires, the data will be purged as part of our standard practices.

To protect the platform from malicious or inappropriate usage, BosINT employs discreet automated safety measures. These filters and checks operate in the background to:

• Detect and deter harmful queries
  Queries that are blatantly malicious, such as those attempting to breach security or instigate violence, are flagged and may lead to usage restrictions.
• Prevent doxxing or unauthorized personal data collection
  Filters can identify patterns indicative of doxxing attempts, ensuring that BosINT remains a tool for legitimate OSINT research rather than personal attacks.
• Safeguard ethical standards
  Where repeated queries suggest unethical or harassing behavior, the automated systems may restrict certain functions for a user or entire server.

These measures are not foolproof nor intrusive; they serve as a preliminary line of defense. The development team’s priority is to maintain a safe environment without compromising legitimate OSINT investigations. Automated alerts are periodically reviewed for false positives to reduce disruption to ethical users.

BosINT remains committed to operating transparently, balancing user privacy with the legal and community obligations of running a secure OSINT platform. To uphold this commitment:

1. Regular Policy Reviews
   We will revisit and refine these Terms of Service and Data Policy periodically to ensure they reflect our evolving understanding of risk, user needs, and emerging technologies.
2. Community Consultations
   Our user base plays a crucial role in shaping BosINT’s development. We may invite feedback, host discussions, or engage in surveys to gauge user perspectives on new features or changes to data practices.
3. Ethical Evolution
   As new OSINT techniques emerge, BosINT will adapt to incorporate them responsibly. At the same time, we will remain vigilant against any function that could enable unethical or unlawful misuse.

By using BosINT, you acknowledge and agree to the scope and intent of this expanded Terms of Service and Data Policy. You understand that BosINT:

• Operates in a limited capacity within Discord
• Implements measures to prevent misuse, malicious activity, and harm to individuals or communities
• Reserves the right to revoke access for any breach of these guidelines or for any misuse that jeopardizes the safety, legality, or integrity of the platform

This acceptance is binding: continued use of BosINT signifies that you have reviewed these terms, understand them, and agree to comply fully. If at any point you do not agree with the policies or guidelines outlined above, you must discontinue use of the service immediately.
